Introduction

In the spring of 2019, one of our partners contacted Progressu GmbH. There was an emergency-dismantling job in Valencia, Spain. It needed to be done within the week.

Two Frigoscandia GYRoCOMPACT® M6 spiral freezers had to be dismantled within one week. The two spiral freezers were located in a food processing factory that prepares ready-made meals for the Spanish and French market.

We believe it is important to listen carefully to the wishes of the customer before we take on a job. However, from a safety perspective, the situation at hand should always be individually examined. Where are the freezers located in the factory? How much workspace does our team have? Speed of the job is important, but this should never be at the expense of safety.

Dismantling

After the first assessment, it appeared that our dismantling team had sufficient time and space to dismantle the two spiral freezers. The same week, both our dismantling team and our transporter left for Valencia. A long drive, but this was not a problem.

After a briefing from the factory manager about the local safety rules, our people were able to get started. By match-marking all parts, the freezers can be dismantled systematically. This way, it will be easier to install the spiral freezers again in the future.

At the last check, our team makes sure the factory floor is squeaky clean, and no nuts or bolts are being left behind.
